Colin and AJ’s Beatles Christmas

Abbey Road turned fifty in 2019. Both of us are big Beatles fans so we decided to take on the classic album for our most daring Christmas homage yet that year. We had been mulling the idea towards the end of the 2018 party planning process and the first drafts of lyrics and demo recordings were made in January.

Over the course of the next twelve months we were in and out of Gaslight Studio a half dozen times, shot and scripted the scenes of our mokumentary, and filmed our version of the rooftop concert. The party marked the debut of both an EP featuring parodies of five Beatles songs and our mokumentary documenting the recording of it. Both were entitled The Ballad of Colin and AJ.
